radio -- take three?

..motorola will offer what they call a radio service, iradio soon - they call it radio, but it's not really radio -- it's a pretty direct hit at iPod...plug your phone into your computer, download songs from stations and listen. I don't know how good their music content will be (surprise surprise, U2 have signed on) and how easy it will be to use - also, I assume you get random songs so the control that iPod gives you is not there. If it's easy to use and has good music, it sounds pretty cool..

anyone know more about this service?

To techo users, the future will ensure that everything you do has a price to pay including music, film, video, dvds, etc. The truth of the matter is that the industry has the technology to expand, but not enough creative ideas to go around. Unfortunately, we are accepting the poor quality of entertainment which includes bad music, internet downloads, film, television and now telephonies. It is not a shift in taste, but a shift that less creative entertainment means more money for the end user provider. I hope Generation Y has more guts to fix the problem than Gen Xers or even the grandfather's of change Babyboomers. Be smart and it will all improve. Don't get sucked into this garbage, you are way too smart for it. Demand quality for your buck, you will be richer in the long run and not them.

I agree with you - we got too much pipe and not enough good conent out there...so we have to rely on Gen Y to save us? I hope reality TV, which will hopefully die off soon is no indication of Gen Y tastes...having said that, the time it takes for consumer backlash from younger generations to form seems to be geting shorter and shorter...they're losing patience! there is some hope..
