I liked this because of the currency in what they speak about. It's not from research that was done like a year or even 6 months ago, it's about services that are popping up now.
Not to sound too 1.0, but I'm still trying to get the satisfaction out of using twitter - maybe I don't have a community of friends so I'm just speaking to the world, and it's not really listening to me :)
Saw this in the new issues of wired. organized carpooling - not sure if this has been tried before but seems like such an obvious thing to do on an organized basis. it's brought to you from the founder of zipcars so that's a good thing too.
ok so I've neglected the blog, again..what can you do..
I'm ramping up every part of the business and realizing that I need people..people in Toronto who live in Toronto and this city and all its neighborhoods!
Who am I looking for..
Local Bloggers - I'm looking for Toronto bloggers who love their neighborhoods..
Local Musicians - I want to use more music from the neighborhoods in my tours - any bands/DJs from the downtown core..
..it's a funny thing - I thought I'd have more time to post regularly once I started working for myself.
So, how have I been spending my time..
Attended the green living show last weekend - some interesting business ideas. I was surprised by how many of the booths just could not tell me why they were there or what they wanted to get out of the show!
Also checked out indoorplayground - my local starbucks is starting to feel a bit cramped for my needs..it's a great space and met some cool people. Will check out other space options to see where I end up.
Other than that it's all been about city surf for me! Some deals are in the works and new tours are coming up soon. Sign up on the site and you can get a free sample of our next tour - Chinatown!
Also, I'm looking at starting a regular mini-city-surf-tour piece to post on my site. Sort of a 'get to know a cool place in your hood' piece to make people feel like tourist in their own city!
I decided to work on my own projects full-time after trying to make the double-shift schedule work for about two years; saying goodbye to Proximity this week..
My name is Ali. I started this blog to cover Canadian stratups. It's turning more and more into just plain startups for all over that are interesting to me (+ the startup scene is small here and there are enough blogs covering it).
So the theme of this blog will constantly change - latest version of this blog (V2) will cover: video blogs that cover interesting topics.
